Asheville Cabins: Vacation Rentals

Planning a vacation trip to Asheville North Carolina?

Of course you could stay in a Days Inn or a Hilton.  Or you could find an adequate  Bed and Breakfast in Asheville.  But for a true western North Carolina mountain experience, my preference would be a quaint mountain cabin.  Maybe a bit rustic.  Maybe a little “old timey”. And probably with hardwood floors, your own fireplace and a porch with rockers.

I think a cabin will fit your Asheville experience perfectly.  You’ll spend as much time as you like enjoying the wonderful sights and hospitality of Asheville.  But every day when you are through with the hustle and bustle of “the city” you can also experience the true Carolina Mountains in your cabin on a mountainside outside of Asheville.

There are lots of great mountain areas near Asheville but the area we strongly prefer is less than a half hour south of Asheville in Flat Rock-Hendersonville.  That’s why our family has four wonderful cabins there.  In the Highland Lake Resort community. Flat Rock also is the home of Carl Saandburg, America’s poet of the people.  You can tour the home and family farm any day of the week.  And, you can enjoy a live performance most evenings at  the home of North Carolina’s state playhouse.  All right there in historic Flat Rock.

There’s also great golfing, shopping and hiking.  Plus some twenty local restaurants to choose from.  Everything from “Mike’s on Main”–our old fashioned drug store with fountain service to a half dozen true gourmet, award winning delights.

Yes, you will absolutely LOVE your cabin at the Highland Lake Resort in beautiful Flat Rock, North Carolina.
